Education has a multi-dimensional impact on children. Receiving education at the right age allows for age-appropriate cognitive, social, emotional, and interpersonal development. And being able to pursue and complete higher education enables children to achieve their goals in life and become self-dependent adults who can contribute to the society’s progress. Reason being this, not only the government and world organisations, but several non-profit organisations also work towards making education accessible to all sections of the society. In the grassroot level, NGOs create awareness and garner support to help underprivileged children receive education.3
As an NGO for education, Vidya Chetana has been
supporting children since 2009. Through its Scholarship Program, this NGOsupports higher education of socio-economically underprivileged and
differently-abled students. Recently, it has also added students who lost their parents in the COVID-19
pandemic under its umbrella of beneficiaries. While school provides the
foundation, higher studies open up a world of desirable livelihood
opportunities. So that every child can fulfil their dreams and goals, Vidya Chetana gives a platform
for donors to sponsor for education of underprivileged children pursuing
PUC (10+2), Degree, Engineering or Medical Courses. This means, when you
donate, you lend a hand in preparing socio-economically underprivileged
students to take on the world.
So
far, this NGO for education has supported education of
5,775 children with the help of 1,375 generous donors. Along with providing
scholarship, Vidya Chetana grooms the beneficiaries to make them career-ready
with various development programmes such as career counselling, life skill sessions,
21st century skills sessions, and Employability Readiness Program,
to mention a few.
